going private

Well, folks, we decided it's time to make our blog private. It's such a scary world we live in....we decided this truly is the only safe way to blog....unfortunately. We won't be making this change for another week or so....but if you would like to still be able to view our blog please let us know which email address you would like us to list for you. We definitely want all those we know and love to be able to take a look whenever you feel like it, so leave a comment or email us so we don't leave anyone out!

so BIG

Well, yesterday was a big day. It was the 6 month mark of Kyri's precious little life. To celebrate we decided to go big....we took her to the Dr. and let them immunize her!!! I know, traumatizing! But the cry only lasted a few seconds. And we were able to find out just how big this baby girl has grown. And believe me, I've been saying for a while that she's no longer 5 lbs of nothin anymore...and that's the truth. Yesterday Kyri weighed in at 15 lbs 3 oz and was 26.4 inches long!! Here's some photos to show you just how big she is.

Kyri can sit up by herself now, but we often use the boppy to ensure less crying when she does tip over. And the drool on the chin is a nice touch too.

Here she is showing you that she really can sit up without any help....and sporting her nice hairdo...which some might refer to as the "alfalfa"

My sister, Tawn, bought this outfit for Kyri before she was even born. What a fabulous aunt!!The hat is still ridiculously large, but it was too cute to pass up.

Batting her big baby blues

When I left the room Kyri was sitting up. I was gone only long enough to start some bath water...and this is what I came back to. Already a little trouble maker. And she was giggling all the while...it was so cute!

the results are in...

"hankering" is a word! It is even a word we use here in America. So, for those of you who voted "no" and agreed with Gary (who was the one who voted "no, it is not a word used in America"), please read on. According to the free online dictionary (although you may find the same results using other sources) "hanker" means "To have a strong, often restless desire." So I want to thank those of you who are educated enough to agree with me, and especially for those of you who may be having a hankering for sushi at this very moment. But not to worry, if you are one of the few who did not know what it means, all is not lost....you know now and will appear much smarter if you use it in your everyday conversations. And your vote did not result in a change of my judgment of you as a person. After all, my own husband didn't think it was a word...or at least not a word used in America. Since this does not show Gary's highest point of intelligence he may choose to delete this post once he reads it....so if you are reading this, consider yourself lucky....and thanks again for all your votes! :)

happy reunion

Last weekend we headed southward for a joyous reunion with ALL of Gary's family. His little bro came home from a mission....and the rest of the family was there to welcome him home! It was fun for me because I only met Todd once...at his mission "farewell" and Gary and I got married while he was gone...yet it seems like I've known him as long as the rest of the family. I'm so lucky to have married into such an awesome family!

the nephews...too excited to hold still...made a sign with their foot and hand prints

"Well done thou good and faithful servant"

ALL the siblings...looks like they all got the memo to wear stripes!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRODY

On Saturday we celebrated my nephews 2nd birthday. He is such a cutie and we are happy to live close enough to join in on such celebrations. Happy birthday, bud!
Yummy blue frosting! The Dora cake was awesome! (but of course I failed to take a picture of the cake)

Dinosaur rain coat...cool!!

Brody loves "baby Ky" but that darn head seems to get in the way! So he just kept pushing it down. Cute cousins!

The New Do

"You're so vain..."
Now that you're done saying that to yourself because it's clear I took this picture of myself...I mean, honestly, who does that unless you're a very confident/self-centered 16 year old....you usually include at least one other person, right? Well, if I may explain: Gary was washing the car and Kyri was asleep. So, rather than getting out of the car and helping Gary I instead found the camera and started taking random pictures...I even got a few of Gary washing the car. I then decided this was a fairly good picture of my new hair cut....I had the same hairstyle for a couple years....far too long for me! So I cut it off...and love it! And although Gary will never admit it to me, I think he secretly likes it. After all, one reason he fell in love with me was because of my crazy short hair!

Girls Weekend

This last weekend Kyri and I went to Idaho and went to Time Out For Women (a women's conference) with my mom, sisters Tawn and Andrea, and sisters-in-law Sandy and Nichole. We stayed the night in a hotel...and really had a GREAT time! Thanks to Nichole, we even had freshly baked cookies waiting for us in our hotel room when we got back Friday night. It was a lot for Kyri to take in...but she had such a great time with Grandma and all her aunts!! Next year we have to make sure Erica and Lisa come...for sure...they really missed out on a fabulous time! We even had the privilege of hearing Sheri Dew speak and Kenneth Cope sing! All the presenters and performers were SO amazing and absolutely inspiring! And staying up til midnight talking with the girls can't be beat! We love you girls!! And are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful family! Thanks for a fabulous weekend!
Dinner at Plum Loco...their chips and salsa can't be beat!

Friday night at the conference. Tawn, Mom (Jolene, Judy, Grandma....Fluffy Grandma...you choose...I love you Mom!), Sandy, Nichole, Kyri, and Andrea...and I'm taking the picture, of course.

At the hotel room Saturday Morning....thanks to the other girls for going to the conference early and saving us seats!! :) But I just realized I shouldn't have sat in front of that picture...it makes my hair look fluffy...ah well

Eating lunch on the bleachers in the high school gym....DELICIOUS!

Kyri was way beyond exhausted, but couldn't sleep for fear she would miss something...after all, we are a fun group of girls!! Finally, while lying on the hard gym floor she closed her eyes, but not without still trying to suck on (or at least lick) her toy! Unfortunately this nap lasted less than 5 minutes....but she sure slept great that night!!
