Random Silliness

Gary's schedule has been a little different the last couple of weeks, which means he's actually home when it's the kids' bedtime. He and Kyri started this new silly game, where, after she put her jammies on, she would sit on the top of Gary's head. Tonight she was patting Gary's head and said, "Get up there. Get up there." Gary said, "Get up where?" She responded (still patting), "Here. Daddy's grass!!" (kids are so creative....or at least honest....aren't they?) Gary and I both started laughing, so, of course, she joined in the laughter and said, "That's funny! Cracks me up too!!" And that just made us all laugh harder!

A new favorite Kyri word, "Wowsers!!"

A couple more names she came up with for Graysen: G Joe, G Me, G Brother

Kyri likes to tell me, "G likes that game!" When it is clear he is not amused with what she is doing to him.
I have to post these random things as they happen so I don't forget!!

Today Kyri was "reading" her Cinderella book to Graysen and it reminded me of the day I overheard her "read" the whole book:
"Once 'pon a time in a land FAR away...Cinderella.
Mean step-sisters. Step-sisters ruin dress.
Cinderella can't go to the ball. Sad 'bout it!
Cinderella run outside. Cinderella crying.
Fairy god-mother come. Help Cinderella go to the ball.
Cinderella SO happy 'bout it!
Meet the Prince.
Step-mother trip the messenger. Glass slipper broke.
Cinderella 'nother one...pocket.
Got to marry the Prince.
Live Happily Ever After.
The End!!"

What's in a Name?

Kyri is quite creative when it comes to names. And they seem to get even funnier as she gets older. Here's a few names she's come up with for the things and people in her life:

Pink Bear, Brown Bear, Heart Bear, Whitey, and Stripey
Baby Kyri Doll, and Baby Bear
Ruff Ruff (even though it's Graysen's we let her name it)
Mom, Momma, Mommy, Mommy-o
Dad, Daddy, Dada, Daddy-o, Dadders
(I love this pic of Gary!! Haha! He has his shirt tucked in, is wearing his new dress shoes, and is showing off his new workout weights. Silly Daddy-o!)
She refers to herself as Kyri Girl. Love it!!
(and this pic makes me laugh! She was in the kitchen throwing a fit over who knows what and then I heard from the other room, "STUCK!! I'm stuck in here! Help I'm stuck!")
And last but not least...oh where do I begin....Graysen, Graysen Man, G Man, Man, Graysen Boy, G Boy, Graysen Bug, Bug, Graysee, Grayser, GG, Gia, and lately it's been just G

Doctor, Doctor, Give Me The News...

Yesterday was an eventful day for our family. We had the privilege of spending 2 whole hours at the Dr. office! At least all the news was good: both kids are healthy! (We just wish we could say the same about the children we sat with in the waiting room.) So here's a little update to go with our pictures:

GRAYSEN
Graysen weighed in at 17 lbs 15 oz (75%) and 26 1/2 in long (also 75%). But when I carry him around it feels more like 30 lbs!! I think it's because he's still so small he doesn't carry his own weight very well....but, then again, neither do I and I am clearly not so small.....

Graysen is really wanting to crawl so he can keep up with his big sister, but instead he just rolls around. One of his all time favorite place to roll is under Kyri's princess chair...he stays very entertained under there for quite some time!!
Of course, he has big blue eyes, just like his Daddy!
And a smile to melt any girls heart, but especially his mamma's!!
Graysen really is SO much fun! He loves smiling...at anyone and everyone, but especially at his sister. And no one can get him laughing harder than his Daddy! I love watching Gary play with the kids because it makes me fall in love with him all over again! Graysen generally (when he's not sick and not away from his own bed) sleeps for about 10-12 hours at night! He (obviously) is growing like a "flower" (as my mom would say) and we can not believe he is already 6 months old!! What a blessing he is to our family!

Kyri
Kyri weighed 26 lbs (45%) and was 33 1/2 in long (50%). Her brother will catch up to her in no time!! I have finally decided that having a 2 year old around is really quite entertaining! She keeps us laughing and definitely keeps us busy!

Our cute Kyri girl talks non-stop...in very clear sentences. Here are a few often heard phrases: "Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop." (she makes it clear when she doesn't want you doing something) or "Sorry. Sorry" (when you are in her way) and when asked a question: "I don't know." And along with her fake laugh: "That's funny!!"
Nothin' like a naked girl with cheese on her nose!!
A Kyri favorite: pushing her baby stroller
Kyri is such a fun and funny girl! I feel very blessed to be her mother! She is such a good helper and loves her brother SO much! Sometimes too much. But I think that even though he cries, Graysen secretly likes being squished like a pancake by his big sister :)

What a silly bunch!
Kyri never wants to miss out on the fun, even if it is just in the exersaucer.

Daddy's Girl

This morning after I got Graysen dressed Kyri said, "Oh, you look so handsome, G man!! SO handsome!"
This is what he was wearing:
Her Daddy would be proud, seeing how it is a Utah State shirt!

On Sunday when we sat down to eat lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions of Conference I was helping Kyri say the prayer.
Me: "We thank Thee that we could watch......"
Kyri: "...FOOTBALL!!!"
Yes, she is her father's daughter...and loves watching football with him, whether it's down at the high school or just on TV. Sometimes during the day, when Gary's at work, she will ask me if she can watch football.

I really haven't been very good at taking pictures lately, but here's a few random ones:

Daddy's Girl
Kyri (with a really messy face) and Daddy watching Kyri's birthday on the video camera
Best Buds
Several months ago I was in the car with these 2 kids. They were both really fussy so I said out loud, "What am I going to do with my two kiddies?!?!" Kyri immediately stopped fussing and said, "Meow, meow!" Oh how I love her!!
Here are both my kiddies/kitties...in Kyri's "big girl bed"
Although Kyri doesn't have much hair, she sure can make a mess with what she does have! This girl has the worst bed head! I must admit, she gets it from her mother. (I will not be posting a picture to prove my point...just take my word for it) If you click to enlarge this picture you will notice there's even some small particle of something stuck in her hair! haha! And I probably shouldn't admit this, but if I know we're not leaving the house there are some days I don't bother combing through it...and some days when I do know we will be leaving, I just make her wear a hat....is that bad?
So peaceful....and seriously CUTE!!
