Graysen Gary Allen

A few minutes before we left the hospital, we figured we better have a name for our little guy. After a long deliberation, 9 months and a couple of days, we decided to name him Graysen. We are glad he is finally here, healthy, and happy. I'm mostly going to post a bunch of pictures, that is what everyone wants anyway.......here goes!

Just after he was born, oh he looks sooo happy!

Momma's first chance to hold her little Angel.

Graysen's first smile.....or so we like to think.

Are those some beautiful blue eyes poking through?

Kyri loves her little brother!
She just couldn't get enough of him!

Family Portrait
Nice Close Up.

Enjoying his Hippo outfit.
Time to go home.
Welcome home Graysen, we love you!

Twas the Night Before...

Well, tonight is the last night of being parents of one....is it real?! The pain in my back (and all over, really) is telling me that it is. It will finally be time to put a name (still unknown) with a cute little face. And we really are so excited! Kyri keeps telling us she wants the baby to sleep in her room, in the bassinet, but I'm sure she doesn't really have any clue what she's signing up for! And neither do we, in all actuality. And yet, we are all excited for "baby brother" to get here! I will have Gary take one last picture of my belly in the morning before we leave....boy is it huge....(and to prove that is the countless times I hear Kyri say "uh oh, mommy....messy!" and I can't even see what she's looking at, but upon reflection in the mirror she is always right)....and we will add it to our next post, which will hopefully show off our new little man!
But first: the big sister
her new sunglasses. rain or shine she wants to wear them
yeah it was in the 70s today so she got to wear shorts, but, of course, still insisted on wearing her winter hat and gloves...what a crack up...she sure is going to make a great, fun sister!!

She Wears Her Sunglasses at Night...

Kyri is getting SO big...and is quite ready for a baby brother...if only she would be a bit more helpful in coming up with a name for him! A couple weeks ago we had her 18 month check up. The doctor asked if she had between 15 and 20 words. I said, "Umm...no...she has a TON of words!!" He told me that some kids don't talk much at this age and proceeded to say that we may have the opposite problem and not be able to get her to stop talking. And that is the truth....she jabbers NONSTOP! But we LOVE it!! She is always surprising us with the things she says and remembers. We couldn't be more proud!! And we are FINALLY all well in this house!! For the last 6+ months we have been sick with something every single month! This last time it was RSV....and let me tell you that was NOT fun!! But since we are all well and the weather is sometimes nice, we take some time out to play outside. Kyri has decided she quite likes her sunglasses and even wore them around the house for days before we were even well enough to go out and play. Unfortunately, "glasses...boken..." (both pairs) and we will soon be headed to the store to find some more. Here's a few of my favorite pictures of her and her glasses.

She put her shades on and I said, "you are just too cute!" And so she said, "picture Mama!!"
peekin' over

she insisted on taking her mismatching gloves outside too....and even wore them for a while...she makes me laugh!

she put it all on herself....which would explain why her hat is backwards and her glasses upside down...love it!!

For some reason Kyri has been a bit obsessed with taking pictures with our camera by herself. Most of them turn out really blurry and are of nothing but the floor or ceiling....but she did a pretty good job on this one!! "Hi Daddy!!"
Here's a couple of our favorite Kyri stories as of late:
During Conference we tried to really point out President Monson to her and explain that he is the Prophet. Now, whenever she sees a picture of any of the General Authorities she says, "MONSON!!" Although she isn't spot on at least she understands the association.
Just tonight I was singing "We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet" to her. Every time I finished she would say, "Monson....again!!" And so I sang it again.
The other day we were all in the store and Kyri let a little burp slip out. She said, as loud as possible, "BUUUUURRRRP!!" I told her to say excuse me, but she kept saying burp over and over until we acknowledged that she did indeed burp....oh what are we teaching our child?!?
Whenever Kyri wants something she will usually say, "one?" because I usually tell her she can only have one. Well, the other day when I continually told her no, she could not have just one she said, "two?" as if I might give in to that request...silly girl....but today she asked me for 3....oh great does it ever stop getting higher?
We sure love our Kyri girl!!

As Big as a Barge!

That's right, folks, we're getting down to the final days. And, boy, am I feeling it.....I feel just huge!! I had an appointment today and the Dr said if this boy keeps things up he'll be here at least a week early...if not sooner. YIKES!! We better get a move on and get some things ready! Including a name! On the right is a poll for names. PLEASE help us out and vote!! And PLEASE give us more suggestions....we will put them into serious contemplation!
Here I am....as large as life!! Only 26 more days until the due date. However, we've already discussed being induced on the 22nd if he isn't here by then....that's only 20 more days!!
And here I am with my best girl!! Gotta love that smile!

From Winter to Summer

A few weeks ago we had the chance to go visit Grandma and Grandpa Allen in Nevada. It was a much needed break....and so nice to have Tammy and her boys there. Kyri loved following her cousins around, getting into mischief with Kyler, and snuggling Grandma and Grandpa (and of course the twinkies were an added bonus)!!
It was nice and cold when we left....there was even some snow still on the ground. When I was loading the car Kyri insisted on wearing her hat, which she put on herself...good job, little lady!!
But down in NV it was warm enough to run through the sprinklers! Gary was fixing the sprinklers, so all the kids took advantage of the flowing water. Kyri, fully clothed, while her cousins took the next-to-nothing approach. And I wish the picture was a close up of Gary because then you could see the skin tight biker shorts he is wearing.....haha!!

We had a great time and can't wait to do it again!!

Nothin' Like a Man in Uniform

One of Gary's many church assignments was to ref the basketball games. He even got to go all the way to Regionals as a Ref......and let me tell you, he sure was proud of his "good calls"! Sometimes I'd even catch him "practicing" the calls.....he makes me laugh! One of the many reasons I love him SO much!!
Isn't he a handsome fella?
