We have a 5 year old roaming around the house now!

Kyri's birthday was on the 19th, which was right in the middle of the week.  Because we are awesome parents, we decided to celebrate for the entire week.
It started the Saturday before her birthday.  We have wanted to take Kyri to a movie, but haven't had a chance to preview the movies in the theater's first.  Luckily for her, Finding Nemo 3D was playing and we know she like that movie, so we figured it would be fun for her to go and see it in 3D.  Her and Mauri went and had an awesome time.  We opened gifts on her birthday and then we celebrated on Sunday when family could come.  She had a great birthday and we are so proud of her and how grown up she is.

At the theater with Mom.

Opening up gifts from Mom and Dad.

She even got some gifts from her cousins! Lots of fun games and activities for her to do.

The cake situation was an interesting one again.  It never turns out the way I want to.  This one was take two, but ended up okay.  Face wasn't too good, the rest of Cinderella was turned out nice.

Kyri with her cousins ready to blow out her candles.

She was really excited about her cake and I guess that is all that really matters.

Happy Birthday Kyri!

Uh Oh, Not Again.......

We thought Kyri was the last of our E.R. visits for the summer.  Well, we were terribly wrong.  Here is the story.............
Friday night I was in the middle of making some dinner and Mauri was helping the kids clean up a bit and Tanzi was just kind of wandering around and climbing around on things like she always does.  Mauri and the kids just went upstairs and Tanzi was playing on the kitchen chairs.  Suddenly, I heard the chair tip over and Tanzi start crying.  I went over to see what was going on.  At the same time, Mauri rushed down  the stairs just in time to see a pool of blood starting to puddle up near her head.  Immediately we realized it was worse than a little bruise or cut.  I picked her up and I saw the big Gash just above her eye.  After seeing Kyri's, we knew we needed to get her to the hospital. This was going to require stitches for sure.  We didn't quite know how to get her there so we all just jumped in the van with Mauri driving, the kids in the back, and me holding Tanzi.  Good thing we only live about 5 minutes from the hospital!  We made it to the hospital and took her in.  Very shortly after getting there, they took her back.  Only one of us could go with her and I figured Mauri should go and I stayed with the other two.  The whole time we could hear her crying, which was pretty sad, but at least we knew she was getting all fixed up.  After about 2 hours of waiting, Mauri and Tanzi came out and she was all stitched up.  She got a total of 7 stitches.  After leaving the hospital, Tanzi seemed to be back to her normal self.  She slept great that night and the next morning, we found her climbing back up on the kitchen chairs again... We were hoping she learned her lesson the first time, but who knows......we just don't want any more trips to the hospital for stitches!

As you can see, it was a pretty deep gash.......I think there was stuff in there that we probably shouldn't have seen.

Waiting for the doctor to come in and stitch her up.

Cleaned up a little ready for the anesthesia and then the stitches.

She wasn't very happy to get the shot of pain killer.

Stitching her up.

The finished product.

All smiles from here on out.

Another closeup of the stitches later in the evening.

There you have it.....now Tanzi and Kyri have both had stitches while Me, Mauri, and Gray have remained stitch free......let's hope it stays that way!

Brigham City Temple

I took a morning off work so we could go to the Brigham City Temple open house.  We all had a really enjoyable time and the kids had lots of questions about everything which was a good thing.  Luckily, the day we went it wasn't very busy and the weather was a little bit cooler.

The kids first bus ride......

The "Little Miss"  trying to make her way up the stairs.

Tanzi was trying to get away, she did not have a very good picture day.

Zoo Trip 2012

One of our family traditions is to go to the Zoo every year.  We really like it and the kids have a great time seeing all the animals.  This year the new Rocky Shores was open which was really cool.  We went on a perfect day as well and all the animals seemed to be very active.

At the entrance

They had a lot of zoo members around with random animals the kids could see and touch.  It took a little coaxing to get Gray to touch this armadillo.

The kids always love the elephants.

Usually these windows to the rhinos are so dirty you can't see much, this time we got both in one shot.

An even better view of the rhinos.

Hunkering down in the eagles nest.

The new rocky shores and the polar bears.

Polar bear kept coming up and saying "Hi" to the kids.

They really loved it.

The tigers were actually up and moving around rather than hiding in the shade.

Even playing in the water.

Too hard to get them all to look at the camera and pay attention for a good shot.

On the carousel having a fun time.

It is always so much fun to go to the Zoo and see all the cool animals and exhibits they have.

First Day of School X2

This year both Graysen and Kyri are in preschool.  Kyri is in the older class and goes to school on Monday and Thursday.  This is Graysen's first year of preschool and he really likes it.  He only goes one day a week on Wednesday.  Here is a glimpse of their firs day.

Nice shot girl!

In line waiting to go to class.

Gray looks a little unsure about the whole thing.

At least Kyri is there to comfort him.

Out the door he goes.

Almost time to start.

They both really love going to preschool and it is great for Mauri and I because it is right next door, literally!
