I'm a little late posting this....but that's about how I am with all my posts these days.
When we took the kids in for their check-ups it was a fun, family event. Graysen got his flu "shot" (mist) and was SO proud that he didn't even cry. (Kyri even told him he sniffed good) Considering he cries about EVERYTHING we were very proud parents as well :) And when the nurse told Kyri to take her shoes off and step on the scale Graysen did it instead....he was eager to see how "big" he was....let's hope his next check-up goes just as well.
Ready for the big outing
Tanzi at 18 months
Weight - 20 lbs 8 oz (5th percentile...but finally back on the charts...yea!)
Height - 31 in (25th percentile)
Tanzi is SO much fun right now! We LOVE this stage!! Yes, she is such a busy body and quite the trouble maker. However, she is also quite hilarious!! Her first word was "uh-oh" and still seems to be her favorite. She says it anytime anyone drops something or something just seems out of place. She has a lot of words she says now. Some of our favorite phrases right now: excuse me, oh boy, ME!!(when we ask "who wants.....?"), cheese (which sounds more like "eese" and is only said when posing for the camera, not for the food), and, of course, we LOVE hearing "Daaaaaaaa? Dada!!" and "Maaaaaaa!!! Mama!!" I especially love it when she's roaming the house looking for me, calling out to me or when she hears her daddy and gets REALLY excited!! Tanzi is SUPER snugly. She especially loves snuggling her daddy!! But she also will randomly snuggle Graysen, which I think is super cute. He usually likes it too, but not always. Tanzi loves to dance and sing. She also loves pulling a tiny piece of tissue off the toilet paper roll, wipe her nose or bum, then throw it away. Yet, somehow, there are TONS of tiny pieces of toilet paper ALL over EVERY single bathroom....all the time!! Tanzi is a super good sleeper at night. She generally sleeps from about 6:30 or 7:00 pm until 7:00 or 7:30 am. Her naps, however, are not so awesome. She usually naps for about 1 1/2 hours every day. She is just always still tired when she wakes up. I'm hoping it's just a phase because she's teething (getting her last 4 teeth...canines) and that she'll start napping a bit longer...or at least not being tired with the nap she does get. Our "Little Miss" is SO much fun and we are so happy to have her in our lives!!
Kyri at 5 years
Weight - 39 lbs (25th percentile)
Height - 3.25 ft (60th percentile)
Kyri had to get her "kindergarten shots" and, oh boy, it was SO traumatizing!! We had her get her shots first, before Tanzi, and she started SCREAMING before the needles ever even touched her arms!! WOW!! Oh, and before that she had to get her finger pricked and she screamed about that too! It was truly a traumatic experience! BUT...she got to pee in a cup...and she was really excited about that. I, on the other hand, who had to hold the cup for her while she peed in it? Not so thrilled.
Kyri is getting SO big and is such a huge helper!! She is truly the BEST big sister! When Graysen cries about not getting his way (which we have already discussed is often), Kyri will often give him what he wants. Or I will sometimes hear her say, "Gray, Gray, before you cry let me tell you a deal!" And she makes a great pan to make them both happy. And while she yells at her brother (a lot) she really is a sweet girl and is generally trying to do what is right. Kyri has started reading. She LOVES it and is always sounding things out. She will do this while writing things down too. The other day she gave a paper to her teacher that said, "Kyri Rooth Alin" I thought it was super cute!! Kyri recently had to memorize a couple things. 1) our phone number. This took a bit of practice, but she's got it down!! 2) her part for the primary program which was, "Honesty is telling the truth regardless of the consequences" She did an AWESOME job on that! And it was a great teaching experience as she asked me what honesty, regardless, and consequences meant. (Yes, I am the one who wrote the program, so I was the one who gave that particular part to Kyri. I did that on purpose because we have had problems with Kyri lying. I am grateful we were able to talk about it and learn from it. She has not been lying as much! I just hope that other parents were able to have similar teaching experiences) Kyri loves preschool. She loves her brother and sister. And she is SO excited for another baby brother! We love our "big girl" and are so glad she is a part of our family!!
