We thought Kyri was the last of our E.R. visits for the summer. Well, we were terribly wrong. Here is the story.............
Friday night I was in the middle of making some dinner and Mauri was helping the kids clean up a bit and Tanzi was just kind of wandering around and climbing around on things like she always does. Mauri and the kids just went upstairs and Tanzi was playing on the kitchen chairs. Suddenly, I heard the chair tip over and Tanzi start crying. I went over to see what was going on. At the same time, Mauri rushed down the stairs just in time to see a pool of blood starting to puddle up near her head. Immediately we realized it was worse than a little bruise or cut. I picked her up and I saw the big Gash just above her eye. After seeing Kyri's, we knew we needed to get her to the hospital. This was going to require stitches for sure. We didn't quite know how to get her there so we all just jumped in the van with Mauri driving, the kids in the back, and me holding Tanzi. Good thing we only live about 5 minutes from the hospital! We made it to the hospital and took her in. Very shortly after getting there, they took her back. Only one of us could go with her and I figured Mauri should go and I stayed with the other two. The whole time we could hear her crying, which was pretty sad, but at least we knew she was getting all fixed up. After about 2 hours of waiting, Mauri and Tanzi came out and she was all stitched up. She got a total of 7 stitches. After leaving the hospital, Tanzi seemed to be back to her normal self. She slept great that night and the next morning, we found her climbing back up on the kitchen chairs again... We were hoping she learned her lesson the first time, but who knows......we just don't want any more trips to the hospital for stitches!
As you can see, it was a pretty deep gash.......I think there was stuff in there that we probably shouldn't have seen.
Waiting for the doctor to come in and stitch her up.
Cleaned up a little ready for the anesthesia and then the stitches.
She wasn't very happy to get the shot of pain killer.
Stitching her up.
The finished product.
All smiles from here on out.
Another closeup of the stitches later in the evening.
There you have it.....now Tanzi and Kyri have both had stitches while Me, Mauri, and Gray have remained stitch free......let's hope it stays that way!
