Day 5

Today was a fairly quiet, uneventful day. However, Tanzi did have a couple visitors

Grammy brought Kyri and Graysen back home this morning and then she and I went down to see Tanzi. Grammy said she wishes she could go see her and cuddle her every day. I think Tanzi wishes she could too...she LOVES to snuggle!!
It just so happened that my sister, Tawn, had to take her husband to the University Hospital to have some tests done. While he was doing that she came over for a few snuggles too!
Loving her sucrose covered pacifier
Tanzi slept the entire time we were there. Of course she woke up right as we were leaving. The nurse said she was doing really good. She hasn't had ANY pain meds (not even Tylenol) since last night around 5:00!! That's a good sign. They did say that there has been blood coming out of her Anderson tube, but they don't seem too terribly concerned with it...yet. They will keep an eye on it though. And, of course, she got to increase her feedings. She went up to 5 mL/hr at 3:00 today! And for those of you who are wondering (my mom was, so maybe some of you are too) they are giving her breast milk through her feeding tube.
So, the day before Tanzi was born I had a Dr appointment and the ultra sound was showing a lot of excess fluid around the kidneys. The Dr ordered an ultra sound for when she was born. However, since there was a more serious matter to take care of first, the ultra sound got put on hold. They told us today, though, that they did that yesterday and it had cleared up and there were no concerns with Tanzi's kidneys. Yea! Another sigh of relief from mom and dad.
So while it was a fairly uneventful day it was a good day. If we are not taking any steps back we can only be taking steps forward.

This morning we were getting ready to leave the house and I told Kyri and Graysen that I was going with Grammy to see baby Tanzi and Kyri said, "But I want to see baby Tanzi too!" It broke my heart! Since it is RSV season then siblings under the age of 14 can not go into the NICU. I know this is hard on Kyri and Gray...and I wish so much that there was something I could do to change that. I am just SO glad that they had some good, quality time with their daddy while I was in Salt Lake today. And when I got home we made cookies! Kyri chose sugar cookies...and the only cookie cutters we have are Christmas ones, so that's what we made! And we LOVED it!
I am SO grateful for my family. And SO grateful we can be together FOREVER!!
